Scaphoid Fracture

Wrist Fracture and DRUJ assessment

Patient positioned either supine or prone with the arm above the head.

Step 1. Acquire a standard axial dataset and construct a standard sagittal reconstruction set.
Step 2. Use standard sagittal data set to obtain coronal reformats through the scaphoid. Align parallel to the long axis of the scaphoid as shown (Fig1)
Step 3. Use the scaphoid coronal reformats to obtain scaphoid sagittal reformats. Align parallel to the long axis of the scaphoid as shown (Fig2
Step 4: True scaphoid axials can be obtained from the scaphoid coronals or sagittals as shown. (Fig3)
